State Representatives Joe Sosnowski, R-Rockford, and John M. Cabello, R-Machesney Park, are partnering with Americans for Prosperity Illinois (AFP-IL) and Wirepoints to present a morning town hall meeting on Governor JB Pritzker’s Graduated Income Tax proposal from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25 at Giovanni’s Restaurant & Convention Center located at 610 N Bell School Road.

The event is free and open to the public and media. Light breakfast will be provided. Featured speakers include Andrew Nelms, AFP-IL State Director and Ted Dabrowski, Wirepoints President.

The Illinois General Assembly is expected to take up the graduated income tax proposal when the legislative session resumes on April 30.

The Graduated Tax Town Hall is an opportunity for local residents to learn about the Governor’s proposal and how it could impact working families and job creators in the Stateline region and throughout Illinois.

Illinois currently has a flat income tax rate of 4.95% for individuals and 7% for businesses/corporations. Moving to a graduated income tax would allow politicians in Springfield to set new rates, subject to change at any time.
