State Representative Joe Sosnowski (R-69th) visited the Rockford Rescue Mission on Tuesday to present a $500 donation that fulfills his wager with State Representative Jeff Keicher (R-70th) on the outcome of the Boylan Catholic Titans vs. Sycamore Spartans IHSA Class 5A boys’ varsity football quarterfinal on November 16, in which Boylan defeated Sycamore 19-16 in a thrilling comeback victory that went down to the wire.

Representative Sosnowski chose the Rockford Rescue Mission as the recipient of his joint donation with Representative Keicher should the Boylan Catholic Titans advance.

“While I am very proud of Boylan for bringing home the victory, I’m even more proud to support the team at Rockford Rescue Mission for all the tremendous work they do serving individuals and families in need here in our community. Thank you especially to Executive Director Sherry Pitney and Director of Donor Relations Ted Tomita for accepting our donation this morning,” Rep. Sosnowski said.

In addition to their own individual commitment, both Representatives are encouraging residents of their communities to participate by donating to a local food pantry of their choice this holiday season.

Rep. Sosnowski serves the 69th District, which includes portions of Winnebago and Boone counties.

Rep. Keicher serves the 70th District, which includes most of DeKalb County as well as portions of Boone and Kane counties.
