Rep. Sosnowski to host online Property Tax seminar for Winnebago County residents Aug. 27

State Representative Joe Sosnowski (R-Rockford) is hosting a virtual property tax seminar at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 27 presented by Rockford Township Assessor Ken Crowley and Winnebago County Supervisor of Assessments Thomas Hodges. The seminar will explain the assessment process and how to file an appeal if you believe you may have been over-assessed.  

Local residents interested in attending the online seminar are asked to register via Eventbrite at the following link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/property-tax-appeals-process-tickets-117817690885. Space is limited to the first 100 registrants.

“With the deadline to appeal your property tax assessment coming up in early September, now is the right time to learn about the process and understand your rights as a homeowner,” Rep. Sosnowski said. “Space is limited, so please reserve your spot by registering online today.”

The deadline to file an Assessment Complaint Form is September 4 for residents of Cherry Valley, Durand, Laona, Owen and Rockford Townships. The deadline is September 5 for residents of Burritt, Harlem, Harrison, Pecatonica, Rockton, Roscoe, Seward, Shirland, and Winnebago Townships.

Representative Sosnowski serves the 69th District which includes portions of Winnebago and Boone Counties.
