Rep. Joe Sosnowski named “Sheriffs’ Star” award recipient

Illinois State Representative Joe Sosnowski (R-Rockford) has received the “Sheriffs’ Star” legislative endorsement from the Sheriffs of Illinois PAC. This program offers support to public officials who support Sheriffs and all of law enforcement in their effort to protect local citizens and communities.

“I am proud to stand with the men and women of our state and local law enforcement,” Representative Sosnowski said. “Our county sheriff’s departments here in Winnebago and Boone Counties do an outstanding job of serving the community. It is truly an honor to be recognized by the Sheriffs of Illinois for my legislative record as an advocate for those who wear the badge and their families. Now more than ever, these real-life heroes need to know they have our support.”

Sheriffs of Illinois PAC Chairman and Kendall County Sheriff Dwight Baird explained the purpose of the “Sheriffs’ Star” award program: “Legislators write and set the laws that we are expected to enforce. That relationship requires strong collaboration and communication between law enforcement and all legislators. We all want safe communities and the best for all Illinois citizens. It is our hope that this endorsement process can help further nurture that important dialogue.  It certainly is my distinct privilege to announce our inaugural “Sheriffs’ Star” recipients today.”

The Sheriffs of Illinois PAC is a bipartisan and voluntary political fund.  This program offers support to politicians who stand up for Sheriffs and all of law enforcement in their effort to protect law abiding citizens.  Politicians that demonstrate these aspects would be considered recipients of the “Sheriffs’ Star”. According to a Sheriffs of Illinois PAC statement, it is now more important than ever that law enforcement have legislators that value the protections and services provided by law enforcement.

Representative Sosnowski serves the 69th District, which includes all or portions of Rockford, Belvidere, Cherry Valley, Roscoe, Rockton, South Beloit, Poplar Grove, Caledonia and Capron.
