Rep. Sosnowski: The Governor’s senseless mandates need to end. Illinois Appellate Court agrees.

State Representative Joe Sosnowski, R-Rockford, released the following statement today in response to an Illinois Court of Appeals dismissing the Pritzker Administration’s appeal of the temporary restraining order issued by a Sangamon County Circuit Court Judge on February 4 suspending his statewide school mask mandate:

“Late Thursday night, Governor Pritzker’s quest for unending executive authority was handed another defeat by a three-judge panel of the Illinois Appellate Court. The Governor’s appeal of a Sangamon County Judge’s decision to place a temporary restraining order on his school mask mandate was dismissed. This is a significant development for the more than 800 school districts and the millions of school students that have suffered under all the mandates issued by Governor Pritzker for 23 months. Now that the Illinois Court of Appeals has weighed in, it is clear JB Pritzker has no authority to force schools to impose mandates on our school children.”

Representative Sosnowski serves the 69th District which includes portions of Winnebago and Boone Counties.
