Manufacturing industry recognizes Rep. Sosnowski with “2022 Champion of Small and Mid-Size Manufacturers Award”

State Representative Joe Sosnowski, R-Rockford, has been recognized by the Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) based in Schaumburg, Illinois, with the organization’s 2022 Champion of Small and Mid-Size Manufacturers Award for his support of TMA members’ best interests during the 102nd General Assembly.

“I am proud of my record in support of the men and women of Illinois’ manufacturing industry, especially here in the Rockford region; and am especially honored to accept this award,” Representative Sosnowski said. “Illinois needs a serious course correction to make our state a more attractive and affordable place for manufacturers to locate, innovate, create jobs and support families. I am grateful to the TMA for their advocacy and support toward making this shared goal a reality.”

Legislators receiving the Champion Award scored 70% or higher on the TMA’s annual Legislative Scorecard. The Scorecard highlights ten votes of significance to the TMA in the 102nd General Assembly. TMA’s position on these ten issues were designed to protect or advance small and mid-size manufacturing in Illinois. TMA represents 800 companies in Chicagoland and throughout the state.

“Deserving TMA’s recognition is no small feat,” said Dennis LaComb, TMA’s Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff. “It takes an intentional effort to support our members’ concerns in the manufacturing field. It takes communication with these legislators so they know the unique challenges we face in Illinois. Representative Sosnowski has listened, voted, and acted with support to our small and mid-size manufacturing community.”

Founded in 1925, the Technology and Manufacturing Association is an independent trade organization focused on assisting and promoting small and midsize manufacturers by providing a diverse portfolio of benefits and services, including: community, information, training, resources, and advocacy.
