ROCKFORD –State Representative Joe Sosnowski (R-Rockford) issued the following statement today on the protest taking place outside his district office:
“I support every American’s First Amendment right to free speech and assembly, including the right to peacefully protest or demonstrate at the offices of their elected officials. Everyone should have the ability to make their voice heard in our democracy; and I want today’s demonstrators to know I respect their voices and concerns. We all agree that the current state budget impasse must end. I support passing a full-year balanced budget with reforms that provide relief to property tax payers and make our economy more competitive so that Illinois can once again be a place where people can afford to live, work and raise a family. I look forward to returning to Springfield and advocating for northern Illinois families during special session to achieve this goal.”
