State Representative Joe Sosnowski, R-Rockford, issued the following statement on the third consecutive day of cancelled classes for Chicago Public Schools amid the Chicago Teachers Union work stoppage:
“It is tragically evident that the leadership of the Chicago Teachers Union cares little about the children of Chicago. Students and their families deserve better than CTU’s intransigence and a Governor who does nothing in response. JB Pritzker did not hesitate to issue orders closing small businesses while keeping big ones open. His past executive orders mandated two people allowed on a boat and closed outdoor activities, but when it comes to educating children, he chooses allegiance to CTU over the needs of students and families.”
