Winners have been selected for the annual 69th District Photo Challenge Contest sponsored by State Representative Joe Sosnowski, R-Rockford. The contest is offered each year to give Northern Illinois residents an opportunity to share their interest in photography with the public.
The contest kicks off in September each year with submissions due by the Friday before Thanksgiving in November. Photo submissions can be of nature, architecture, or daily life in Illinois’ 69th District, which includes portions of McHenry, Boone and Winnebago Counties.
This year’s winners are “Railroad Bridge at Sunset” and “Sunset Barn in Boone County” submitted by William Villont of Belvidere; and “Sunflowers in Richmond” submitted by Mark Adamany of Loves Park.
A framed copy of each 2023 Photo Challenge winner will be added to the display with past year’s winners in Representative Sosnowski’s office at the Capitol Complex in Springfield.
“Each year more and more people submit remarkable snapshots of the natural beauty that makes living and exploring here in Illinois so unique,” Representative Sosnowski said. “I would like to thank everyone who entered our Photo Challenge Contest this year for sharing their passion for photography and talents with us. I congratulate this year’s winners and will be proud to share their exceptional photos with visitors and guests at the State Capitol in the coming year.”
