State Representative Joe Sosnowski, R-Rockford, in partnership with local parents’ advocacy grassroots organization Elevate & Inspire invite local residents to attend a community forum on “Public Education in Rockford: Spending vs. Outcomes” to be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2 at Fozzy’s Bar & Grill, located at 6246 E. Riverside Boulevard in Loves Park.
The forum will feature a presentation by Ted Dabrowski, president of Wirepoints, on where Rockford’s K-12 public education is falling short and what parents can do to improve student outcomes. The presentation will be followed by a question & answer period to give parents an opportunity to ask questions and share concerns on where we go from here.
Data shows that just 1 in 5 students in Rockford public schools can read at grade level. Only 1 in 7 are at grade level for math. These are some of the lowest results in Illinois. Ted Dabrowski will discuss who is responsible and options that parents should have to ensure their children receive the very best K-12 education possible.
